The university course "Russian Language and Culture of Speech" is studied by students with varying levels of cultural and language proficiency, who are pursuing education in different specialties. The initial level of knowledge for students is proficiency in the Russian language at the B1+ / B2 level. The program of the course is based on the principle of variability in content, tailored to the direction and specialty of the students attending the course. The program has been prepared for students from different fields at the Russian-Armenian University.
All modules include topics and materials that enable effective work with both high-level students in language and speech competence and those who experience certain difficulties in communicating in Russian.
The practical course program "Russian Language and Culture of Speech" consists of language materials based on texts relevant to students' specialties, aimed at developing professional and communicative skills. The focus is on studying social, cultural, and professional spheres, as well as linguistic country studies and extracurricular activities.
The overall goal of the training is comprehensive, encompassing both practical (communicative) and educational objectives. The communicative goal is paramount and is achieved by developing the necessary language and speech skills in students. Its essence lies in enhancing students' practical proficiency in the Russian literary language across various domains of its usage, in both written and spoken forms. The acquisition of skills and knowledge in this area is inseparable from a deeper understanding of the characteristic features of the Russian language as a means of communication and information transfer, as well as from broadening the general humanitarian outlook, which implies mastery of the rich communicative, cognitive, and aesthetic potential of the Russian language. The training in speech activity is viewed as a unified interconnected process, focusing on the development of both general and specific skills and abilities.
One of the specific objectives of the course is to master the specialty-related Russian language, to read specialized literature, and to utilize it in academic and professional activities. Another aspect of the course is linguistic country studies, which includes the following elements:
1) Systematic, sequential, and purposeful incorporation of information about Russia into the process of teaching the Russian language;
2) Implementation of the linguistic country studies aspect across all communicative spheres of the training;
3) Use of the linguistic country studies potential, selected for educational purposes from a list of linguistic units with a national-cultural component, as well as from journalistic and artistic texts and works of art.

The university course "Russian Language as a Foreign Language" is intended for first- and second-year students of all majors in the Armenian sector of the Russian-Armenian University, who have a command of the Russian language at the A1 / A1 level. The program is based on a competency approach, which focuses on developing not just knowledge and skills in students, but key competencies that will enable them to effectively use the language in various life and professional situations. This means that language proficiency should be practical and functional, aimed at solving real communicative tasks.
